Exploring how plants grow in 2WB π±
Today we thought about what plants need to grow. We thought of some important scientific questions that we wanted to answer. We got ready to plant a bean using compost. Mrs B is trying to grow a bean on a wet paper towel so that we can compare what happens. Mrs O […]
Super science home learning in 2WB π₯Όπ
Following our science week in school, the children were given a choice of fun experiments to try at home as part of their home learning this week. There were lots of fantastic reactions and it is clear to see that we have some super scientists in 2WB!
2WB research the first fossil hunter ππ
During science week, we enjoyed researching a famous scientist linked to our current science topic –Β Animals, including humans. We found out that the first fossil hunter was a lady called Mary Anning and we were really interested in learning about what fossils are. We saw and touched what a fossil might be like (from a […]
Deduction and innovation in 2WB ππ

2WB launch our new science topic in style (at home) π§ͺπ©βπ¬π§π»βπ¬
Today we looked at items of equipment for an experiment. We put them in a list. We made a prediction about using the equipment. Next, we watched or participated in 3 different experiments: Fizzing Potions Milk Swirls Rainbow Skittles We even made our own videos… Finally, we drew and wrote about our observations… We really […]
Y2WB have been super scientists this week β΅οΈ
This week we decided that our science investigation would answer the question: ‘Does size matter to make a strong boat?’ We thought about the materials we could use and how we could investigate our question. We agreed that paper and paperclips could make a boat and we could test the strength using marbles. To make […]
