Today our Y1 numeracy learning was about sorting objects and preparing to count. Objects can be sorted by their shape, colour and size. We also realised that objects can be sorted by their type. We discovered that when we line our objects up, it makes counting easier.
Our new Y1 children enjoyed collecting scores in our Olympic themed activities yesterday.

Today we built arrays to help us solve worded multiplication questions. We used our arrays to skip count in 2’s, 5’s, 10’s and 3’s. We also wrote our multiplication number sentences two ways to show that the numbers are commutative (can go in any order).
