Some of our Rockingham children and their families received tickets from school to attend the first ever women’s game at Old Trafford over the weekend.
KS2 Playground Games – Spanish Dodgeball
Ks2 had fun this dinner time playing Spanish Dodgeball. Every Tuesday and Thursday, Mr Purshouse will start to lead different games to help promote sportsmanship and good behaviour on the Ks2 yard.
Y5P – Tag Rugby
Y5P have been doing Tag Rugby in PE in the last few weeks focusing on passing and attacking. We looked at how we can run aggressively towards the try line by dodging defenders and running at speed.
REY join the Daily Mile
Our Rockingham Early Years children have really enjoyed joining our daily mile. Our RP reps have supported them in their physical development and how we keep healthy.

This week the children really enjoyed active fusion as they began to develop their gymnastics skills and key vocabulary. Children across all year groups engaged really well together and were so supportive of one another it was lovely to see.

Special Mentions Assembly
Today we celebrated some outstanding learning this week and our winners were thrilled. We are so proud of our children who are completing roles and responsibilities in school. They really do lead the way and celebrate everyone’s behaviour and attitudes to learning.
PE in 34P
Children have had a great time this half term in 34P for PE. They have shown great teamwork skills in team activities as part of OAA and have developed their skills in tag rugby as part of their sport sessions. We look forward to the last two weeks in these sessions.
Y5 Swimming – Water Safety
 Y5 learned about water safety in their last session at swimming. We have had 12 wonderful swimming sessions and the children have progressed hugely.

Y5P went on a exploration to find El Dorado this afternoon. We have been learning about a famour explorer from the Tudor period (Sir Walter Raleigh) who went to find the lost city of gold. Year 6 Roles and Responsibilities
Today we challenged our Year 6 children to pick up the phone and ring our Early Years children and Foundation 1 to get a report on their active travel numbers. The children are responsible for finding out how they travelled to school. We are so proud of their new found skills and confidence.

Y5P Science Week – Muscle Growth
Y5P have designed their own workout to help muscle growth. We have looked at how each exercise helps different muscles.
Bikeability Training
We are so proud of our Year 5s taking part in bikeability training today and tomorrow. They are learning lots of skills about being out on the road and how to signal and manoeuvre. We have two more days available for any children that would enjoy the next session.

Today our Year 3/4 Girls took part in a football tournament. They won all three games to go through to the final. Winning on penalties. Their confidence, sportsmanship and resilience is unbelievable, we are so lucky to have them at our school. Well done everyone.
