We are so proud of our Golden shield winners and showcasing some fantastic learning outcomes. We are so proud of you all. A huge well done to Charlie receiving the Head Teachers award for his positive attitude, resilience and how he has grown in confidence.
During PE, 6H looked at the technique and movement needed to throw a discus. We looked at body movements and linked to History of the ancient Olympic Games. We realised it is not easy to throw with this action!
It was so exciting to get our competitive sport back up and running this week with a visit to Winterhill. Schools within the Wingfield area were asked to take part in a Year 4 boys tournament. Our children reached the quarter finals and we were very proud of their achievements.
So proud of all of our children who have been involved in Beat the Street. Our families have done an exceptional job of collecting points for school and keeping Healthy and Active at the same time. Congratulations to our prize winners –

In our pe lesson this week the children practised pairs and team games playing boats. The children had to find different coloured boats in the hall and make sure their team mates got into the boat too!
The children have been in training this week ready for Willowtree Olympics, a huge thank you to Mr Robins for making our reverseaboards for Athletics. The children have loved using these to practice their skills outdoors.
Our Early Years children really enjoy visiting our school hall for their physical development. They have been learning how to roll, creep and crawl. Some wonderful gross motor skills were evident today.
Over the last few weeks we’ve been building our skills in Netball. We’ve focused on passing & moving, losing a defender, shooting and communication.

This week in PE, 6H have been practicing their forehand and backhand strokes in tennis. We have been working on our hand eye coordination and also our control when striking the ball. The shots were getting much better by the end of the session and will continue to improve next time.
Leighton and Ally are loving the big pedal challenge this week. Well done!

Today in PE we learnt all about defending. We built up our skills through the lesson by defending a target then adding in a bean bag and finally throwing a bean bag to score a goal and defend the net.

Alfie in Rockingham Early Years is my Head Teacher Award Winner this week. His resilience, determination and enthusiasm for learning is outstanding. Mr Hanson loves visiting Alfie to play football with him as he has a passion for sports and really enjoys getting active. We are proud of you Alfie!

The children love attending Coordination club with Miss Tyzack, developing their gross motor skills and concentration through a series of exercises. The children in 4/5D love their morning routine.
