Our Children in 6H are flying the flag with their maths passport achievements thanks to the wonderful support from Mrs Baum who has been supporting the children with their mental arithmetic. The children have now moved onto the next planet. Well done 6H.

Today our Year 6 children enjoyed their meeting with Los Albares to discuss our NEMESIS projects and shared our experiences of lockdown. Both children enjoyed finding out the similarities and differences between the two counties. We can’t wait for our next meeting.

This week we have been looking at the Census taking place this week. We looked at how helpful they are and what data they generate every ten years. The children then developed their own questions to investigate and carry out a census.
Today 6H have come dressed as a colour to represent an emotion. There were lots of different colours represented.
This week, 6H have carried out learning about growth mindsets and being positive. Today we held a Philosophy for Children session. Today Mr Hanson enjoyed his first after school club with his class, making connections through team games such as basketball. The children loved being back on the playground together. We saw some big smiles and some excellent skills today, well done.
This week, 6H had the opportunity to plant lots of trees donated by the Woodland Trust. The children had a great time out planting even though it was raining. Thank you to Mrs Tunks for helping us plant them correctly!
This week has been tree planting week at Rockingham, all the children have been out planting trees near our pond area. The children have learnt so much from Mrs Tunks this week. Thank you for helping our children grow.
Today we celebrated science week during special mentions, we have had some fabulous learning outcomes and our children have loved every second. A big thank you to Miss Darby for organising such a spectacular week with a range of online workshops.

This week we have been looking at seascapes from a ship. For this we have looked at creating an image of the sea and a porthole for where it would be viewed from. The end results will be fabulous.

Today, we all logged on to our live lessons from our homemade reading dens and talked about what we had gotten up to during this book week, showing off our t shirts and book character vegetables. We even had some children read extracts from their favourite books. The adults also got involved too.
