On Thursday we celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee with a Rockingham Garden party. We had singing, dancing and parades all around. Our families arrived in style and we celebrated with an outdoor picnic, marking 70 years of the Queen’s reign.
Our Y3/4 girls fully enjoyed their time at the Phoenix Gymnastics Academy, taking part in lots of different gymnastics activities. The festival allowed children with little gymnastics experience to try and learn new skills.
This week in 4D we have been focusing on our mental health. We have discussed what it means to be lonely and how we cope with our emotions.

Our special mentions assembly again showed all the wonderful learning experiences, outcomes and achievements of our amazing children and staff.
The children in year 4, engaged really well with the workshop today. They shared their understanding of bullying. They also learnt the different forms of bullying, such as physical, cyber and indirect.
This week the children have had an introduction to netball and have been focusing on passing.
Our first special mentions of our he Summer Term, celebrating our successes and achievements. We are so proud of our Rockingham children and staff you are all incredible.
We held our final special mentions assembly of the term and again had some outstanding learning and awards to share. All of our children have shown maximum effort this term and have such a wonderful desire and passion for learning. Well done to all our winners this week.

Today we shared our Easter Service with parents at St Mary’s Church, it was such a wonderful celebration after being absent for two years. The joy on everyones faces was amazing to see. The children have used a range of skills to develop their round houses further. They also used teamwork and communication skills to weave and make knots. We just have our finishing touches to add next week.
The children showed lots of resilience when using charcoal today. They were very creative with their patterns. This learning followed on from our cave painting study and looking at the materials they used during the Stone Age.
4D had a great time at the library reading books and sharing stories. We can’t wait to go back soon.
Today we celebrated some outstanding learning this week and our winners were thrilled. We are so proud of our children who are completing roles and responsibilities in school. They really do lead the way and celebrate everyone’s behaviour and attitudes to learning.
The children used their story boards to help them create their Stone Age animations using the software ‘I can animate’. They focused on slowly moving their figures and props to make their animation come alive.
Well done to KS2 children for taking part in the High Jump Challenge before school this morning. Look out for tomorrow’s challenge!
Today we were blown away by the learning of all Children, their behaviour, attitude and learning is fantastic . The way they applaud each other and celebrate their success is lovely to see. Our school really is the best in the world.
Today our Year 3/4 Girls took part in a football tournament. They won all three games to go through to the final. Winning on penalties. Their confidence, sportsmanship and resilience is unbelievable, we are so lucky to have them at our school. Well done everyone.
Today we started our investigation about tooth decay during science week. We used eggs to represent a tooth’s enamel and placed them in different liquids. It was lovely to hear about Siena and Hollie’s dance achievements from this weekend. The girls were very proud of their medals from their dance festival. We can’t wait to hear about your next achievements girls!
Fantastic art and design opportunities ranging from wax resist, charcoal, sewing and artist studies in school on our learning walk yesterday. We saw incredible teacher modelling and high quality skill development. When asked a child said “Art makes me feel joyful”. How amazing is that?

We are so proud of our Year 3/4 boys showing grit and determination on the sports field as well as skill and FairPlay. We are so proud of them and can’t wait to blossom as they move through school.
We were very impressed with the effort the children had put into their book hats. The children did a cat walk with their hats and spoke about what book inspired them to make them. The children voted for our class winner. Here are some pictures of the children’s hats.
This afternoon we had our book tasting activity. The children tried a range of different books and reviewed them. We even enjoyed a hot chocolate and biscuits. YUM!
