This week in y2 we have been describing different settings using adjectives.
Today KS1 were lucky to have an opportunity to engage with the Bollywood-Carnatic Progression Project. We enjoyed some dynamic, live music and practised clapping along to the beat 🎶
Today we joined in with a Bollywood music session with the Rotherham Music Service. We enjoyed listening to music from another culture.
We enjoyed our outdoor maths session. We drew equal and unequal parts of a shape to help us with our learning on fractions.
KS1 got immersive in our literacy lesson today to help us with ideas for onomatopoeia 🎭
In Y2, the children explored how we could split a range of shapes into even and uneven parts. We added labels to practice our maths vocabulary too! 🔢
Y2 children looked at the different materials used and the reason why their properties were suitable for purpose. We then discussed the difference between natural and man made materials 👨🔬👩🔬🔍

This week we enjoyed our first music lesson with the Rotherham Music Service. We looked at beat and rhythm and using our listening skills.
Today we celebrated our children’s learning and wished them all a happy new year. We are so proud of how they have settled and used their resilience and determination to be successful learners.

Today we celebrated our attendance winners. We are so proud of all of the children. Especially achieving 100% under such difficult circumstances. Well done to all our dinners.
Today we have awarded a Hilary Ford Reading Champion from every class. A child that reads consistently and has made excellent progress this term. We are so proud of you all.

This Year the children have been involved in Strictly come dancing which has been phenomenal. Each class has worked together as a team to learn a class dance choosing a particular style of Dance. Today we held our Christingle Service, thank you to all of our Teachers and children for sharing your contributions and allowing us to continue our service in a beautiful way. We enjoyed our Christmas party in the hall. We played games and danced to all of our favourite songs
All our children looked incredible on Christmas Dinner day, so much effort had gone into their outfits including the staff. We really enjoyed our lunch. Thank you Mrs Parry and the team for our Dinner this year.
We challenged the staff to work as a team and decorate their doors ready for the Children coming into school on Friday. They were very competitive and took on the challenge. This week we celebrated special mentions with our festive jumpers on the children looked amazing in their different outfits. This included the staff too. Children showcased a range of learning from the week and we are so proud of what they have achieved.
Y2S sang beautifully at the Minster on Wednesday and had worked so hard with Mrs Rawson and Miss Stubbs to learn three songs. Thank you Miss Thompson for allowing me to see their beautiful faces.
