Wow what an amazing day we’ve had at Cleethorpes. The sun was shining and we had the best time ever! We paddled in the sea, went on a train ride and even enjoyed an ice cream on the beach.

What an incredible day at Wentworth Woodhouse for our House Treat. Team Scholes really embraced the day despite the heat and tired legs on our return to school. We explored the gardens, played games and even had an ice-cream. Well done all and good luck next year.
Today we were so lucky to have KCM visit our children to talk all things waste. The children asked some fabulous questions and explored recycling. Our eco monitors were very excited to hear what happens when they recycle.
In Y2 this week we are continuing our work in textiles. We have been practising our running stitch onto fabric so that we can put this onto our bag design.
This week we enjoyed learning all about capacity. We went outside and used different containers to measure water in millilitres and litres.
On Thursday we celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee with a Rockingham Garden party. We had singing, dancing and parades all around. Our families arrived in style and we celebrated with an outdoor picnic, marking 70 years of the Queen’s reign.
On Friday we took 30 KS1 children to the institute of sport. It was a fantastic day full of sporting activities and it allowed our children to shine through their sporting abilities. They were a credit to our school.

Our special mentions assembly again showed all the wonderful learning experiences, outcomes and achievements of our amazing children and staff.
We loved telling stories today with our story spoons.
In art this term we are looking at textiles. Today we used our sketchbook to recreate some repeating patterns and we looked at the work of some craft makers.
We had our workshop with our special visitor Mrs Foxely-Johnson. We had a fantastic time learning all about friendship and how to stay kind in our world.

Y2S have had a wonderful morning sharing stories and learning with their families. It is so lovely to share all the achievements from the year so far and the smiles on everyones faces were wonderful to see.
Yesterday we enjoyed a day out at Bolsover Castle. It was amazing to see a castle in real life! We saw lots of the features of a castle that we’ve been learning about.
Today we celebrated some outstanding learning this week and our winners were thrilled. We are so proud of our children who are completing roles and responsibilities in school. They really do lead the way and celebrate everyone’s behaviour and attitudes to learning.
Our after school boosters are back and our children love their individualised learning programs to develop their confidence, self esteem and resilience. We are so proud of all of you.
Miss Stubbs used her skills today to teach Art through the medium of powder paint. The children really enjoyed understanding the primary colours and how to create new colours. I can’t wait to see the final outcomes.
