Mrs Oram is supporting positive play in KS1 and created some fabulous scavenger hunts on our playground. The children have loved them and can’t wait to start making their own.
We spent time outdoors today, feeling calm and relaxed. We really concentrated on 5 things we noticed, 4 things we could touch, 3 things we could hear, 2 things we could smell and 1 thing we could taste. We enjoyed sharing our experiences and ideas.
Today we celebrated our children’s successes during special mentions. A wonderful assembly. We are so proud of you all.
Feeding the chickens is an absolute joy, although they did get somewhat excited when we opened the gate! Luckily, we had kind assistance from some of the older children and we were able to give them clean water and checked they had plenty of food.
We designed and created a printing block today that allowed us to practise some relief printing in Y2 👍🏻😀
Today in our booster club we looked at addition. We used concrete objects to add 2 numbers together. We are becoming much more confident with it now.

As part of the Big Pedal competition, today we were celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day. The children came to school in Non-Uniform and wore something green to raise awareness on we can do to help the environment. We discussed how the world can change outside of our own windows. #BigPedal2021
We loved our visit to see the goats! One of the goats even tried to eat Miss Stubbs’ hair!
Today we used the atlas’ to develop our map skills. We searched for the UK and then Peru. We then looked at the physical features of Peru and sorted between physical and human geography.
This week in art we have been exploring printing. We made our own designs using foam and then printed into our sketch books. Next we will use the skills we have learnt to make a house print for a Great Fire of London scene.

Well done 1S for being active for our Big Pedal competition.
Today we explored capacity and volume in Maths. We used different containers to see how much water they held. We learnt lots of new vocabulary including full, half full and empty.
Today in PE we learnt all about defending. We built up our skills through the lesson by defending a target then adding in a bean bag and finally throwing a bean bag to score a goal and defend the net.
Well done to everyone participating in the Big Pedal competition.

Our children have loved coming back after Easter to their new Reading Environments. It’s been wonderful seeing the children fully immersed in the class texts. I can’t wait to hear all about your reading.
