This week, we have been learning all about fractions. We know that ‘whole’ means to have all of an object or shape. We also know that ‘half’ means our object/shape has been split into two equal parts. We even know that to make a quarter, we must have 1 of 4 equal parts.
We have looked at concrete objects and pictorial models this week to help us with our learning. The children are gaining confidence with their subject-specific terminology and can accurately represent fractions using different shapes.
Many of our children have even noticed that, sometimes, shapes and objects can be split equally in different ways!
