** BREAKING NEWS**

Morning everyone,

Hope you are all keeping safe and active during lockdown. We have some fantastic news to tell you in regards to another sport challenge for you to take part in! Friday 22nd May is going to be Willow Tree Academy Virtual Sports Day where you will have an opportunity to compete against your friends and family in 10 different activities.

Each activity will be scored and then added together for your overall score. Once you have your overall score, you will need to send this to your class teacher via class dojo. The activities will be differentiated for each Key Stage and will be led by Mr Purshouse and Miss Tysack. The activities will take no longer than 30 minutes to complete with each activity lasting between 1-2 minutes.

There’s going to be 2 ways for your child to get involved with our Virtual Sports day and you can choose the best option for you and your family to complete the 10 activities.

1. 8am Friday morning we will post the Virtual Sports Day video for your child to watch, follow and engage with in their own time and space. The video will need to be completed by 12:30pm where you will need to send your score to your class teacher.

2. Mr Purshouse and Miss Tysack will be leading 2 live zoom sessions for your children to complete their 10 activities with their friends and teachers. Details on the zoom sessions will follow ASAP. If you are interested in attending the zoom sessions, please comment below with your child’s name and class. If you do not comment below, you will not receive an invitation to attend.

At 12.30pm, we will collect the scores from all the classes and then we will announce the winners from each key stage later in the afternoon.

Please choose the best option for you and your family. We would like as many of you to take part and it would be fantastic to see you all keeping safe and active. Please remember to take lots of photos and videos and upload them onto Twitter and tag @rockinghamji with the hashtag #wtavirtualsportsday. If you haven’t got access to Twitter, please send photos to your class teacher on dojo.

Keep your eyes on the story tomorrow, as we will be releasing a promo video to announce more details on the activities.

Finally, thank you everyone for taking part in the Rockingham 2k challenge. Overwhelmed by the amount of children who took part and it was fantastic to see. Congratulations to Class 1/2 WB and Y4/5D who were the joint winners and you certificates will sent to your class teachers.

Thank you,

Mr Purshouse
