The KeyStage 1 children had a cold but great time finding out about Conisbrough Castle and its history.
During the visit, Seth became a spit boy who would have worked for 4-6 hours without a break, turning a pig over the fire for the lords and ladies whereas George’s job was to clean out the drip tray of all the pig fat outside the kitchen.
Meanwhile Matthew and Bradley found out what it would have been like in the prison part of the castle
( not very nice) and the Lords and Ladies group found out that it was very nice to have servants!
We all learned that glass windows were very expensive and were put in the basement or taken with the lords and ladies when they went to another house and that they also took their beds with them!
