Thank you so much for all your support with our understanding of Diwali.
Today 6B have had some interesting discussions around Covid 19 and have organised statements on the agree-disagree line. We have had to agreed disagreeably with each and used various talk techniques to get our points of view heard, such as thumbs in, palms up and talk token.

Y3/4P have had their first Co-Creation lab with Safe at Last and some of our fabulous parents. Today we had so much to celebrate. We have some fantastic Science models in 3M of some steel men linked to their class text. 4/5D have some fabulous seasonal science learning and 1S showcased their new outdoor learning area. Well done to all our Shield and Golden Leaf winners this week.

We asked the children to reflect on there strengths and what they thought they could do better at. They recorded this in the shape of Humpty Dumpty’s shell.
Our Children in Early years have really enjoyed reading the Fall and completed some drama activities. They discussed the text and explained their ideas.
Y6 have been working on something really special for our Black Art history month. We have taken inspiration from Corey Barksdale who is an American artist. PE – Keeping Active Y6H have been keeping fit this week through circuit Training. The children had to take part in a series of fitness challenges, press ups, plank, squats and a whole host of physical activities in order to test how fit the children were. The children in F1 discussed Diwali and the different celebrations they celebrate with their families at home. They made Diva lamps using cards and decorated them with different things!

Today we had a wonderful special mentions assembly with a focus on the wonderful science learning produced by our child’s. And parents during the half term holiday in preparation for our Science Fair. We are so proud of all of our learners this week. Well done.

Our Year 6 children have loved working with Balbir Singh today celebrating the Festival of Light. The children have been learning about Diwali and the festival of light. The Dance workshop has really brought the children together.

The children in 6B have been creating CD covers for @andyoddsock. The children have loved exploring the lyrics and designing their hands @MrsFJ70 some wonderful messages explained and explored.
A huge thank you to Mrs Foxley Johnson for our assembly this morning, our Year 1 children kept raising their hand to say that they are going to stop bullying everywhere and were fully behind you. Thank you for always supporting Rockingham we love you.
