We have had a really productive training session this morning, getting our new library ready for the rest of the school. Our first task: can we order our new loan library books into alphabetical order. We have been tasked with creating date labels for every book ready for next weeks training session.
Today our Year 6s played tag team multiplication in the hall. A difficult challenge of teamwork, skill and resilience. The children were encouraged to self check their learning. Well done Year 6 and thank you Miss Tyzack for planning an incredible numeracy lesson.

Aiden has produced some outstanding home learning this week we are really proud of him. He has so much enthusiasm for his learning and is passionate about his learning. Well done Aiden.
So far this week we have seen some wonderful literacy from our children, we have Eila and Loui with descriptive writing and our Year 1 children who have produced some excellent storyboards all linked to their topic around Shrek.
Today we had a discussion with our Peer Mediators and School Council around Restorative Practice. We discussed the scaling tool and how the questions support our children in resolving conflict through a discussion and agreement. A huge thank you to SCC Active Travel for organising the Green Top Circus to come and support our Active Travel. The children had an incredible morning we had over 70 parents join in for our walk to school and our children thoroughly enjoyed the assembly. Rockingham loves to be active.
In our Early years we observed excellent communication skills, children were using their social skills to develop a conversation during snack time. We encourage our parents to take reading books home to share stories and develop a love of reading.
Today our Year 1 children were taking part in a Yoga session, all the children were focused and developing a strong core.
Mr Hanson and I had a wonderful learning walk around KS1, the children were extremely excited to show us their learning. There were children building forts in the sand, children dressing up in the Immersive reading area and children in the continuous provision.

His highly individual style was influenced by movements in art that included Expressionism, Cubism, and Surrealism. 2KS have been studying the artist particularly looking at his painting of a Castle which links directly to their topic.

On Friday our Year 4 and 5 children performed The Tempest at Rotherham Civic theatre. Both Y4/5D and Y5P put on an outstanding performance. They showcased their learning with accurate pronunciation and acting prowess.
We used our sketch books to show how to mix colours. We can’t wait to use the skills we have learnt to produce some wonderful pieces of art work!

Our Foundation 1 children have been busy learning their initial letter sounds and enjoying feeding Metal Mike, they completed some wonderful learning and were able to identify all the sounds.
This week in Numeracy we have been learning all about Prime Numbers, Square Numbers and using addition in its many forms, the children have had a fabulous week and worked extremely hard to achieve their targets.
