Year 5 had a fantastic afternoon at Sheffield Hallam University. They visited a laboratory, where they took part in different science activities, such as making bouncy balls, extracting DNA from bananas and learning about the anatomy of the body.
In science we have been exploring our senses. We felt a smooth conker, smelt sweet perfume and strong coffee, heard birds singing and cars beeping and looked at optical illusions.
As part of our real project, 4C have presented a germs assembly to whole whole school to promote washing your hands and stop spreading of germs. We are so proud of them! They spoke clearly and with clear knowledge. They even had demonstrations and a Q+A section.
As part of our REAL project, 4C are creating PSAs for the children of Rockingham. These will be viewed after the assembly children will be presenting to the school. Here is the rap one group has been creating. Music video coming soon! I can’t wait to see the finished results.
