On Friday our Year 4 and 5 children performed The Tempest at Rotherham Civic theatre. Both Y4/5D and Y5P put on an outstanding performance. They showcased their learning with accurate pronunciation and acting prowess.

Before Christmas, we managed to squeeze in our dissolving investigation linked to our learning on materials and their properties unit. We used a range of vocabulary during the experiment, including the terms soluble, insoluble, dissolving and variables. We did our best to keep it a fair test and manage all the dependent variables.
Y5P have spent part of today creating their calendars that will be sent home. Many children were focused on their learning. As a result, the outcomes are fantastic.
Today our Year 5/6s took part in a very intense spelling bee. The children really enjoyed using their phonics knowledge to spell words correctly. Well done everyone and good luck in the final next week.

Today we are performing Carols at Rotherham Minster organised by Rotherham Music Service. We are so excited to share our beautiful singing with our parents.
Our Year 5s have had the opportunity along with Greasbrough to have the Shakespeare company into school performing a play. The children have been fully engaged throughout and have been transported back in time.
Our children were so excited to read their letters and share them with each other. We have started to respond and are looking forward to our continued communication. I think we should organise a Skype call.

Our Year 5s and Foundation have had a spectacular day exploring the space. Our Foundation 1 children were so excited about finding the hidden objects.
Year 4 and 5 from Y4/5D and Y5P, have had a interesting day learning about the Tudors. They enjoyed getting into role and acting out a royal banquet for King Henry VII. They also learnt lots about what it was like to live in Tudor times.

Class 5P battled to victory Class 4/5D in the most recent football match at Rockingham J&I. It was a great game with many children really enjoying themselves.
Our children today have shown excellent resilience completing their bikeability course in the rain. They are really enjoying developing their skills on the playground before moving out of the school grounds. Well done everyone we are all really proud.
Y5P have been developing their Hockey skills with Mrs Baum today, she was so proud of how the new class have worked together as a team and supported each other with encouragement. Well done everyone!

So proud of Rockingham children today, from Year 4 to Year 6 working alongside each other to share with our European partners what we have been doing during our NEMESIS projects. The children were very articulate and confidently able to present to a range of adults new learning. Well done!

Today our Year 4 children are exploring the Plague village of Eyam, they have visited the plague houses, Church and Museum. They have also been to visit the Riley Graves which sit high up on the hillside. The children are having a wonderful day and here are some pictures shared by Miss Darby.
