Our Year 3 children have performed beautifully at the big string with their Ukulele we were all extremely proud of their enthusiasm and attitude to learning a new instrument. Congratulations.

This afternoon 3M have had a wonderful afternoon during our mindful week. The children were involved in meditation before starting their learning.
3m and 3/4P have completed their fundraiser for the British Heart Foundation. The children have completed the ‘Skip A Mile’ challenge and have so far raised over £300. Please donate if you havent already, you have till tomorrow at 3.15pm. Well done everyone and thank you for everybody who has donated.
Our Year 3 Children visited Magna on Wednesday to learn about Science and engineering as part of their STEM learning. The children are reading Meet me by the Steelmen and are using their visit to enhance their knowledge and understanding.
In 3m the children walked into a crime scene, there was police tape everywhere and the classroom had been turned upside down. This is related to our book and the children were given the task to investigate who had done this and why. They came up with some questions to interview the suspects.
Y3M and Y3/4P have had an amazing vizit to the Tropical Butterfly House. We encountered some exotic species which will support our learning around rainforests this half term.
This week our year 3 children have been making flapjack ready to write their instructions, they worked extremely well as a team and they tasted delicious. On Monday the 29th of January we took 10 children to Roughwood to take part in the Basketball cluster tournament. The children played exceptionally well and progressed to the Rotherham finals. They won during the final game against Thorpe Hesley winning 11-9 combining both the boys and girls scores toghether.
We have been looking very closely at poetry this last few weeks and the children have produces some amazing acrostic poems.
