Y3/4P enjoyed our circled time discussing diversity. Children had some really good discussions about how important it is to be proud of yourself and to be different.

3m and 3/4P have completed their fundraiser for the British Heart Foundation. The children have completed the ‘Skip A Mile’ challenge and have so far raised over £300. Please donate if you havent already, you have till tomorrow at 3.15pm. Well done everyone and thank you for everybody who has donated.
This afternoon children and parents designed their own clay hearts. We had a fantastic time and their learning outcomes have been fantastic.
Our Year 3 Children visited Magna on Wednesday to learn about Science and engineering as part of their STEM learning. The children are reading Meet me by the Steelmen and are using their visit to enhance their knowledge and understanding.
During our numeracy lesson today, Y3/4P recorded and presented our data which we collected during PE on Monday using Google sheets. The class worked in pairs to create their bar chart and designed questions to help read and interpret the data collected.
This afternoon, Y3/4P investigated and predicted which objects are magnetic or non-magnetic. We sorted them into groups and had lots of discussions using key vocabulary.
Outdoor maths today, mixing our PE and numeracy learning together; the children were looking for subtraction problems by following their maps and solving them as a team. Was nice to be outside the classroom and try something different in our numeracy lessons.
Last week, following our crime investigation we’ve produced a news report on the traumatic event in Y3/4P. The class were split into 5 groups and created a BBC news reports to inform the public of the story.
In 3/4P the children walked into a crime scene, there was police tape everywhere and the classroom had been turned upset down. Children completed their big write this morning by completing some peer critique. They gave constructive feedback and improved their persuasive piece.
In 3/4P the children have been completing a P4C on attendance, looking at the importance of coming to school and not missing out on learning time. Their question was ‘Are you Ashamed? what are your thoughts?
Y3M and Y3/4P have had an amazing vizit to the Tropical Butterfly House. We encountered some exotic species which will support our learning around rainforests this half term.

On Monday the 29th of January we took 10 children to Roughwood to take part in the Basketball cluster tournament. The children played exceptionally well and progressed to the Rotherham finals. They won during the final game against Thorpe Hesley winning 11-9 combining both the boys and girls scores toghether.
In week two we created these lovely pastel winter landscapes based on our text, The Snow Queen. Well done 3/4C
On Friday afternoon we had a fabulous Christmas party.
Children across school have been enjoying learning new dance movements with the help of the Balbir Singh Dance Company. Our workshop has given us some brilliant ideas for our dance and we will be lucky enough to see an exhibition at Magna.
