We paid tribute to black art history by researching an influential artist. Lois Mailou Jones was greatly influenced by African masks and the use of bold colours and patterns. In the style of our artist, we started with our mask outlines before using pastels to add bold and bright colours. Which colours did you like best?

Thank […]
We had an amazing virtual reading group today 👍🏻😀 Can you guess what our story was about? We read Goldilocks and the clever plan – making predictions and answering bug questions just like this one. Have you read any books online this week?
Today we went live with bar modelling 👍🏻 We used our fact families, making addition and subtraction numbest sentences. We counted in 1’s and 10’s, making numbers to 100 and did lots of work on our whiteboards as we went along. We may not be in our classroom today, but we can still show off […]

Today in art we had a go at sketching and copying tone. We had a variety of animals and styles to choose from and used these to practice our pencil control. Which animal would you have chosen?
Today we continued to practice our emailing skills. We safely replied to messages from a new friend called Twanda, who asked us about our celebrations. We can now reply with emojis and symbols, attached pictures and our own drawings. We messaged Twanda about birthday parties, eating pizza with our families and decorating with balloons. What […]
Yesterday afternoon the children used so many of our learning skills to create their model houses. I am so proud of their independence when drawing, measuring and cutting and also deciding how to fix sections together and adding a roof and an opening door.
Alfie Jack enjoyed boosting his wellbeing (and appetite) with global cuisine at home this week. Mum says he has loved trying something new and helped to prepare the meals before eating them together. I notice that Alfie Jack has chosen to drink water as a healthy option, too.
Carter enjoying his bike ride (and new bike) as part of his home learning task this week! Thank you for sharing your photo.
We took advantage of the sunshine at the beginning of the week and enjoyed our PE lesson outside. We are improving our throwing skills, getting more accurate each time we try!

One of the families in 2WB has been enjoying outdoor walks in the woods and eating a vegetarian healthy meal as part of Healthy Schools Week. The smiles on their faces show how much they enjoy it! Thank you for sending your pictures!
At the beginning of this week the children used the part – whole model to investigate fact families for 20. The children love taking their learning outside!
Today we practiced our shading skills, with a focus on tone. We enjoyed making different tones, without pressing on the page with our pencil. Instead, we learned how to hold our pencils properly as artists to get the desired effect on our page. We learned to use a new word – ask us what […]
Today we picked up some new ICT skills. The children had to safely open and respond to virtual emails from Barnaby Bear. They even managed to send a picture attachment! We can’t wait to find out who will be emailing us next week…
Yesterday we focussed on a kind mind and how we can control our mental health. We looked at breathing exercises and how we can control our breathing to help us feel calm.
In 2WB the children have been using ten frames and two sets of different coloured counters to investigate making number bonds to 20. Brilliant work 2WB!

Today we created our bird designs for an upcoming local display. The children thought carefully about their use of colour and showed some excellent colouring skills!
Our children in 1/2WB are developing their Geography skills using Physical equipment. What do you think they have created? Excellent team work skills everyone.
