Love is…

At the start of this week the children were challenged to compose, edit and publish their own poem about what love means to them. The resilience they have shown is clear to see in these wonderful outcomes!

Bolsover Castle

Last week we visited Bolsover Castle. We had the best time exploring the castle and it’s grounds, making our own films in the ruins and using our sketching skills to produce some art work.                

Congratulations Maisie

Today Maisie received the Head Teachers award for showing excellent resilience in Maths this week. I have really enjoyed working with Year 2 this week and can’t wait for next week. I am so proud of you Maisie you are really growing in confidence.

Atlas skills in 1/2WB

The children loved using the atlas and maps to locate, name and label countries in the UK. The children then found the capital cities and added the names and drew pictures of the castles that are located there. The children were extremely proud of the piece of learning!

Year 1 fractions

This week the Year 1 children in 1/2WB have been applying their fraction learning using playdough and shapes. The children remembered the shape names from our lessons a few weeks ago. Well done Year 1’s!

ICT with 1/2WB

Y1/2WB have enjoyed working in the new ICT suite, having a go with the Chrome Books. We have been learning about algorithms with Mrs Smith who is from Herringthorpe Junior School. We practiced our new skills by playing a programming game on Purple Mash.

Y1/2WB have been making bird feeders.

Y1/2WB have been working hard making bird feeders. Mr Clark has been busy putting them outside our classroom, and we are hoping to attract lots of wild birds. We have created a bird watching station in our classroom to sit and take some time to observe any birds that come to enjoy our feeders. I […]
