In 1/2P, we are starting to recognise coins and their value. We are incorporating our money knowledge with our addition and subtraction learning to work out monetary totals in word problems. Well done girls and boys, you did so well with your learning this week and we are so proud.

Children in 1/2P have been using the outdoor learning area to take part in some fun away-from-the-desk Numeracy learning! Our outdoor area is being developed this year and we can’t wait to see the end product. We love going outside and being creative with our learning!

This week has been Healthy Schools Week. We have practised meditation as a way to keep our minds healthy and happy. The children could talk about how they felt after participating, stating that they felt ‘calm, ‘relaxed’, ‘comfortable’ and ‘happy’.
Today we have been discussing what a map is and how we use them. We have looked at lots of different types of maps and even made our own!
In 1/2P the children enjoyed sharing the story A Huge Bag of Worries. Together they discussed their ideas and generated questions for discussion.

The children in Year 2 have been learning about the history of seasides and part of this learning focused on Punch and Judy shows. The children researched and then made their own sock puppets to act out their own show! Some children even made the stage. How amazing are these examples?
Our Year 1 children have been busy making colour monster puppets this week, how fabulous do they look? The children have worked really hard to develop a range of skills over the week to develop their fine motor skills. All children have planned and evaluated their models.
This week the Year 2 children in classes 1/2WB and 2KS have been thinking about staying safe when you are out and about. They chose their own scenario and designed a poster to give advice and messages to others to stay safe. Well done, these posters are great!

This week the children in Year 2 were tasked with making their own analogue clock that they could use throughout the week to recap o’ clock and half past times and then learn quarter past and quarter to. I was blown away by how creative the clocks were! Well done Year 2
