Today 5/6H have visited the library this morning to join and take books home, our newly trained librarians were able to issue books behind the counter and were extremely excited. We are so excited to have this continued partnership.

Our Year 5 children were superb on the basketball court on Monday evening and worked extremely hard playing against some very experienced teams who also had the height. We finished in 3rd place and are so proud of our up and coming stars. Thank you to Annie’s mum for this beautiful picture.

Today Y3M shared the story Brave, looking at what it means to be brave. The children completed a P4C using ideas from the text. They worked so well as a team and were able to discuss their ideas and viewpoints clearly. Well done everyone.
Children in 5P were writing letters this afternoon in response to the letters from Spain. Children were interested by the festivals that children were involved in and some of the music they listened to.
Today our keen gardeners were getting their hands dirty creating bird feeders. They were using lard and bird seed to create fat balls. We can’t wait to get them outside and identify the different types of birds that visit our pond area. Karson has completed some incredible home learning which has inspired the whole group.
Today we competed in the Cluster round of Sports Hall Athletics. We are so proud of all of our children today and for coming in 1st place. A huge thank you to SCC Active Travel for organising the Green Top Circus to come and support our Active Travel. The children had an incredible morning we had over 70 parents join in for our walk to school and our children thoroughly enjoyed the assembly. Rockingham loves to be active.
In our Early years we observed excellent communication skills, children were using their social skills to develop a conversation during snack time. We encourage our parents to take reading books home to share stories and develop a love of reading.
This week we have observed some wonderful learning opportunities across school, I have also enjoyed sharing stories with my KS1 reading champion children. Well done everyone.
